Riverdale casts Jughead’s mother and sister in season 3

The search for Jughead’s mother and sister has come to an end. The producers of Riverdale have completed Jughead’s family.

We’ll finally be meeting Jughead’s mother and his sister in Riverdale season 3. Creator and executive producer, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, has revealed during the New York Comic Con panel they’ve found the perfect actresses for the job.

Gina Gershon has been cast as Gladys Jones, Jughead’s mother, and Trinity Likin has joined the cast as Jellybean “JB” Jones, Jughead’s sister. We’ll be seeing them often as they have recurring roles. We’ll see both of their first appearances on December 12, which might be a Holiday episode.

I’m sure many of you are wondering, will Betty be meeting them both and interacting? The answer is, yes. How will things be between them three? That has yet to be revealed. But we know Betty is very protective of Jughead.

The character descriptions for Gladys, and Jellybean “JB” Jones are below:

"Gershon plays Jughead’s much discussed but never seen Mom, a “businesswoman” who runs the salvage yard that doubles as a Serpent compound. The character is described as the type who the Serpents all snap to attention when she gives them an order. A Serpent with a GED, she acts as Fagin to a crew of teenaged car parts thieves.Trinity Likins as sister JB is wise beyond her years, and her favorite bands are Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath. Jellybean lives with her biker mom in Toledo, where they run scams to make ends meet. And like mother like daughter: JB is quite the little con artist herself."

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told fans at the New York Comic Con panel that FP Jones is a little bit adrift now that he’s not the king of the Serpents.

He continued:

"“I think Gladys is gonna shake that up a little bit.”"

Anything for Bughead fans? Yes, Lili said so far, so good. We’ll be seeing more of their adventures, especially as they’re now teaming up to solve a new mystery that arose in town. Lili described the mystery as an epidemic. It involves everyone in the town and it’s a crisis.

Season 3 sounds promising, especially how it’s going to be very dark and tense.
