The Gifted: Sean Teale talks about Eclipse’s development and the cartel
Will the cartel return to The Gifted? Will we see Eclipse and Polaris reunited? Sean Teale discusses these answers and more in this interview.
The Gifted Season 2 started the season with the couple we were all rooting for separated. Polaris chose the side of the Frost sisters, while Eclipse remained with the Mutant Underground. Sean Teale discussed what’s to come, including whether the cartel could return, in this NYCC interview.
No matter what is going on, Eclipse will never sacrifice his morals and he was against killing humans. He hated that Polaris went that far in the Season 1 finale. Sean confirmed that in the interview. Eclipse’s morals are what makes him who he is. He’s seen far too much to even consider going against it.
However, that’s not going to make his next steps easy. He wants his child back. While the Inner Circle’s view is shortsighted, not dealing with the pain of losing a child and questioning some of his morals now and again would be inhuman.

During the interview, Sean also discussed more about the cartel and whether it could return. “You might,” is all he would say about whether the cartel will return. There are flashbacks to his time in Columbia, which links more to who Eclipse is and why he’s so passionate about getting his daughter back. However, whether we’ll actually see the cartel come back is another thing.
