Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is now streaming on Netflix

The darker and creepier version of the 90s’ Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, is now streaming on Netflix.

Halloween is almost here and there is no better time to watch Chilling Adventures of Sabrina than now. If you’re expecting it to be a light version as the 90s’ Sabrina the Teenage Witch, think again. It is a darker and creepier version.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, creator of Riverdale, is also the creator of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The trailer creeps me out, but I am a sucker for these types of scenes and storylines. It’s also great since Halloween is almost here.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is based on the comic book series of the same name. Netflix provided a synopsis of the series below:

"Half witch. Half mortal. On her 16th birthday, Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) has to make a choice between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends. With her aunties (Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis), her cat Salem, and her boyfriend Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch), Sabrina will face horrors and new adventures in the mysterious town of Greendale. From the executive producers of Riverdale comes a haunting new tale."

I hope we get to see Salem talk, even though we will not be seeing him much as Kiernan is allergic to cats. I’m not sure if he’ll talk, though. One thing is for sure though, the clip that Netflix released of Sabrina meeting Salem for the first time in that clip was spooky. He’s not the innocent and witty cat we all knew from the 90s’ Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

This is also the first part that Netflix is releasing, I wonder how the second part of the first season will be. I’m not sure when the second part will be released, but hopefully soon. Judging from the trailer, it already looks creepy in the first half. I can’t imagine how much better it will be in the second half. Bring it on!

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is already off to a great start, scoring a great 76% on Metacritic from critics, a fantastic 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 4.5/5 review on Den of Geek at the time of writing this.
