Culture impact today: The meme featuring Liam Neeson’s character on the phone is still very popular today, even ten years later. If you search “Taken meme,” you are sure to find various photos with Bryan Mills on the phone discussing his skills.

Taken collected a worldwide total of $226.8 million at the box office. Its success brought on two sequels, Taken 2 and Taken 3. None performed as well as the original.  Film writers Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen joined forces again for a Taken action TV series in 2017 that aired on NBC. It starred Clive Standen as a younger version of Bryan Mills, highlighting MIlls’ days as a CIA agent. The crime drama ran for two seasons before being cancelled.

If you missed the series and are curious to check it out, it’s available on Netflix and Vudu. You can also watch the movie for free at HBO NOW (with a subscription) or rent it on Vudu, iTunes, and Amazon Prime.
