The CW has announced its spring premieres for 2019. This news brings the Supernatural Season 14 finale date. It’s earlier than normal but does give us an idea of how long the next Hellatus will be.
The Supernatural Season 14 finale will air April, 25, according to Deadline. We’re used to finales being in May, but it looks like the network doesn’t want to hold off the final episodes too long. Remember, this season will only have 20 episodes instead of 23, so if The CW wanted a May finale, we could have seen a six- or seven-week Hellatus in the middle of the season.

There will still be some sort of Hellatus around March. This is standard. It allows the production more time to film the final episodes and prevents the show going up against March Madness. The break will likely be for the whole of March instead of in two smaller two-week chunks like in 2018 (which was done for the Olympics in February and then March Madness in March).
What’s taking over the Thursday night slot after the finale? Unfortunately, it isn’t Supernatural reruns. However, it is a show that I enjoy watching and highly recommend. iZombie‘s final season will take over the 8/7c timeslot on a Thursday night from May 2.
Those who do watch Legacies after Supernatural will see a new show taking the 9/8c slot from April, 2. In the Dark premieres, hoping to keep the Supernatural viewers for a month.
There are no details about the Supernatural Season 14 finale. It’s going to feel odd going through May without a new episode and it does mean a longer summer Hellatus while we wait for Season 15 (if that happens).
