Criminal Minds Season 15 is officially the end. Here’s everything we know about this final season.

Criminal Minds may only be part way through its 14th season, but we already know that Season 15 will be the end. The announcement was made a couple of days ago, along with some important information about what to expect.

While we don’t know how the 14th season will end, we do know that the 15th season will conclude all storylines. This could see the BAU dispanding or everyone moving onto new jobs. It could even be a realistic end with a couple leaving but the rest of the team remaining with the idea of continuing their cases as usual.

But what do we know about Criminal Minds Season 15 already? Here’s everything we have from reports so far.

Deadline states that the production is currently wrapping filming on the 14th season. Filming the finale this week, the team will move straight onto filming the 15th season without a break. It makes sense since it will mean running until the end and then focusing on new projects.

The season will run in the 2019-2020 TV season but its not clear whether it will get a fall or a midseason premiere date so far. However, the Season 14 finale airs on Feb. 6 (since it only got a 15-episode order) so there will be a longer than usual break.

This final season will be the shortest ever, running at just 10 episodes. That doesn’t mean fewer interesting storylines. There will be a big bad villain that is introduced in the 14th season finale, running throughout the final 10 episodes. He’ll be younger and faster, but never smarter than Rossi.

We may also see some of the UnSubs of the past mentioned or seen. This has happened now and again throughout the series, but it’s time to give more throwbacks to the past. Hopefully, we’ll also get some past members of the team returning to the series.

Criminal Minds Season 15 will be more serialized and there will be some intriguing personal storylines for the cast. It runs on from the 14th season finale, which will see one of the characters getting married. I’m not going to say who, but this TVLine report spoils it all.

Talks about a 15th season started in the fall with CBS and ABC Studios. Showrunner Erica Messer wanted to know whether Season 14 needed a series finale or could have a cliffhanger. The decision was that this show deserved time to run a well-written concluding storyline.

There will be a cliffhanger, but nothing like the 13th season. Expect a cliffhanger on a more personal level. As for the series finale, there aren’t any plans to kill off current members, but you just never know! Just know that the jet isn’t going to crash in the final moments to kill off everyone!
