Last week on The Conners, Dan found himself in a financial pickle after sustaining a workplace injury. In the episode, Dan filled in for D.J.’s vending machine job when one of the units fell on top of him and crushing him. The injuries amounted to expenses they could not afford and the company refused to pay. After hiring a lawyer, Dan got a settlement but it was less than what they expected. That said, all his medical bills were mostly paid.

This week Darlene has something up her sleeve in regards to her new boyfriend Ben. In the upcoming episode tonight, Ben is said to offer piano lessons to Mark and while he teaches him, Darlene is sizing him up as a father. Naturally, any good mother would do this for her child though.

There’s also a side plot involving Becky‘s baby shower being thrown by Jackie, which knowing Jackie’s personality it’s probably going to be too much for Becky.

"When Ben offers Mark free piano lessons, Darlene finds this as an opportunity to test his parenting skills.Meanwhile, Jackie throws Becky a baby shower, and Emilio continues his efforts to be part of the baby’s life."
