Crossbreed, a new film from the minds of Devanny Pinn and Brandon Slagle, has all the feels of the best of the nineties, with a fun and innovative twist.

Devanny Pinn and Brandon Slagle’s new movie, Crossbreed, is a nostalgic yet innovative actioner that includes elements of sci-fi, horror, political drama, and comedy — all set in a universe that truly explores the depths of the imagination. The film boasts an incredible cast that includes the likes of Vivica Fox, Daniel Baldwin, Stink Fisher, Mu-Shaka Benson, producer, and Devanny Pinn (as the crossbreed).

Critics may point to the movie’s budget restrictions as a point of disdain, but Crossbreed is a work of art. In fact, in some ways, it seemed to echo the work of Jon Favreau in the sense that the organic, natural effects combined with CGI (as Favreau did in Iron Man) created a very realistic on-camera look for its elaborate shots.

And speaking of elaborate shots, the scenery is gorgeous, something that can be truly difficult to pull off no matter what. But again, in spite of budget restrictions, they truly brought this world to life both in outer space and on the ground.

The movie centers around a futuristic U.S. government trying to retrieve a bioweapon, the crossbreed, from outer space. A team of elites is selected to carry out the mission, and that’s where the fun begins.

It was clear that the cast worked well together, something that jumped off the screen at you from the get-go. And in a recent interview with Commyounicate, Devanny Pinn confirmed just that.

"Stink Fisher, who’s our star — he’s awesome — he and Daniel worked really, really well together. They’re both hilarious. Great, funny stories. I’d have to yell at everybody, No, this is a serious scene! Stop! So it was just fun. A lot of times, on set, it is really just work and very stressful. But for this one, everybody really didn’t want to be done with it. Everyone really kind of felt like they were making something special and embraced that."

Devanny Pinn has made her mark as an actor in the horror genre, but she has more than proven she has the vision, imagination, and skill set it takes to produce a spectacular film.
