Tuesday TV ratings: The Conners season finale up, Splitting Up Together at series low [Jan. 22]
Tuesday TV ratings are in and they’re mixed across the board. While The Conners ended its first season on a high, Splitting Up Together’s ratings dropped to a series low. Here’s a look at the networks.
The Conners concluded its first season on Jan. 22 and ended on a high in terms of the viewer ratings. Meanwhile, The Flash and Roswell, New Mexico performed well and Ellen Game of Games remained on top. However, the Tuesday TV ratings weren’t great for every show.
Tuesday’s 8 p.m. slot was good for many shows. Despite a slight decline in demo rating, Ellen Game of Games still won in the demo and came second in total audience (seeing a 17% increase). The Conners took first place in total audience and it was a season finale, so an uptick in the views was expected.

The only hour-long show in the first slot of the night to see a decrease was Big Brother: Celebrity Edition. It lost 14% in the demo and 8% in the total audience from the premiere episode the night before. There were certainly plenty of people wondering where NCIS was, which possibly wouldn’t have helped the ratings.
When it came to the 9 p.m. timeslot, The CW will be happy. Freshman series Roswell, New Mexico saw the demo increase by 5.26% from the series premiere. While the total audience dropped by 18%, an increase in the demo from pilot to second episode isn’t common. That’s definitely a win for the Millennial network.
The Gifted and black-ish both saw upticks in their ratings across the board. In fact, the only disappointing show for ratings was FBI, which saw a series-low in both demo and total audience. It’s possible that the lack of NCIS contributed to that, as plenty of fans will stick with CBS throughout Tuesday nights.
Splitting Up Together saw the most disappointing drop, reaching a series low in total audience and joint series low in the demo, according to TV Series Finale. This continues to put the sophomore comedy in line for cancellation this year.
NBC took the top spot in the demo with New Amsterdam, even though the show saw a 3.85% decrease. It was the only 10 p.m. show to see an increase in any of the Tuesday TV ratings, though, with the total audience figures increasing by 3% to 5.81 million. That wasn’t enough to take over NCIS: New Orleans‘ 6.66 million viewers.
The Rookie continued its decline, with a 6.67% loss in the demo and 0.21% loss total audience ratings. You can see all Tuesday TV ratings at TV Series Finale.
