Fuller House is renewed for a fifth and final season: Reasons why it needs to stay

Everywhere you look, everywhere you go, there is one last season of Fuller House that we will be watching.

How rude! I did not expect to hear that Netflix would only be renewing Fuller House for a fifth and final season. It’s stunning specifically because not only has the Full House revival been nominated for the 2019 Producers Guild Awards, the show also received a GLAAD nomination for Season 4, Episode 12 “The Prom.”

Fuller House has received five wins and 10 nominations since it aired in 2016. The two of the most prominent nominees the show received was two consecutive years for “Outstanding Children’s Program” of both 2018 and 2019.

One of the “Outstanding Children’s Program” nominees was for the 2019 Producers Guild Awards, and the other was for the 2018 Primetime Emmy. That is pretty darn impressive if you ask me.

Reasons why Fuller House needs to stay:

There are not many family comedy shows out there. There are a lot of teen drama and killing shows. I love watching teen drama shows, but nothing beats family comedy shows.

The beautiful life lessons shows like Fuller House teach people while entertaining them is something that we need in today’s world. I also love the cheesiness and corniness in Fuller House. It’s my guilty pleasure and the characters crack me up.

In the season finale of Fuller House, Season 4, we see Kimmy give birth to Stephanie’s newborn, and Jimmy proposes to Stephanie. You cannot tell me we won’t be seeing much of Stephanie being a mother after the fifth season. We all want to see these storylines revolving around Stephanie now, especially seeing Stephanie and Jimmy’s wedding.

We need to see Jackson and Ramona go to college. These kids are maturing and there are so many storylines that the writers could explore.

Why did Netflix cancel Fuller House?

There are a few reasons Netflix may have felt that there wasn’t a future of Fuller House:

  • Netflix may want to save money as the show has a lot of cast members
  • The production cost may be higher than the budget cost
  • The ratings dropped enough for Netflix’s executives to cancel the show
  • If there’s any behind-the-scenes drama, that may have played a role in the cancellation

In any case, the fans aren’t happy about this, and I don’t blame them one bit. Will Netflix sell the rights to another network to allow them to continue the show? Who knows, time will tell. Hopefully, John Stamos can sell the show to another network.

Next. Are Danny, Joey, Uncle Jesse, and Becky going to be regulars on Fuller House?. dark
