Supernatural Season 14, Episode 14 won’t air until March, but we have plenty of questions and theories. Could the title give us a clue of what to expect?

“Ouroboros” is the title of Supernatural Season 14, Episode 14. While the episode won’t air until March, this title has given us plenty to ponder. It’s not a made-up word, and actually gives us a hint of what could happen in the future.

It’s time to break down the meaning of Ouroboros and assess what it could mean for the future of the series. Of course, there may be what you consider spoilers in this post. All I’m working with is the events that have happened up to this point, the trailer for Episode 14, and the meaning of the word.

“Ouroboros” comes from the Ancient Egyptian iconography that was used in Greek mythology. It’s been used in alchemy since and is linked to a symbol of a snake eating its own tail. Sometimes, it’s depicted as a dragon eating its own tail but the snake is more common.

The idea is that out of death comes life. There is creation out of destruction. The snake eats its own tail to survive.

What does this link to? Well, there’s certainly a link to Dean, who still has Michael trapped in his head. Could it be possible that Michael is going to do something inside Dean’s head that will help to preserve his life?

Probably not. I think the title is linked more to Jack’s storyline. After all, it’s that storyline that takes center stage in the promo for Supernatural Season 14, Episode 14. By Jack using his magic, he’s destroying more of his soul, but he could be destroying one thing to create life elsewhere.

Alternatively, it could be linked to Jack’s actions against Rowena. There’s a moment in the trailer that shows him using his powers against her. Is he going to destroy Rowena in the hope of preserving his own life?
