Despite the leads of Supernatural being all men, there are plenty of women to celebrate. It’s not surprising that two episodes of the show will be aired in an International Women’s Day TNT special.

International Women’s Day is coming up and there’s a TNT special to look out for. Throughout the day, episodes of some of your favorite shows will air. And two of those episodes will be Supernatural ones.

I know, at first glance, this is going to sound odd. The lead roles are all men and women don’t get the best of treatments on the show — just look at how many strong women have died and the all-women spin-off didn’t get picked up. But, there are some women to celebrate in the show. Particularly, the directors!

The two episodes that will air on Mar. 8 were both directed by women: Nina Lopez-Corrado and Amanda Tapping. So, it’s not surprising when you look at that that there will be episodes airing.

Both episodes run back-to-back. The first starts at 8 a.m. ET and it’s Supernatural Season 12, Episode 5. Titled “The One You’ve Been Waiting for,” this episode was directed by Lopez-Corrado. It’s a personal favorite and one that sees Dean mention something from it in a later episode. You’ll remember that as soon as you hear that it involves Nazi necromancers.

Yes, the Nazi necromancers want to resurrect Hitler, and the Winchesters need to act as quickly as possible to prevent that from happening. Not only was this episode directed by a woman, but it was also written by one: Meredith Glynn.

The second episode is from the same season, this time jumping to Episode 19, titled “The Future.” Directed by Tapping, it guest stars Courtney Ford as Kelly Kline. Sam thinks he’s found a way to prevent the birth of Lucifer’s baby, but Castiel doesn’t want that to happen. He’s realized that this child could be good.

Meanwhile, Dean learns that the Colt has been stolen. Yes, this was the season with the British Men of Letters so no prizes for guessing who has the Colt! Meredith Glynn was one of the co-writers for this episode.
