Supernatural Season 14 finale confirmed for April

The CW has released its finale dates for 13 shows and Supernatural Season 14 is on the list. The date previously assumed is the confirmed Season 14 finale date.

Supernatural Season 14 will wrap up in April. With the shorter-than-normal season, it’s one of the first fall shows to wrap up (Black Lightning) is the first and that certainly means a longer wait assuming October will be when Season 15 premieres. However, which date exactly will the season end and what does that mean for current schedules.

We’d previously worked out the finale date based on when iZombie Season 5 would premiere. April 25 is now the confirmed date for the season finale, which means there are eight Thursdays until we’re going into our longer-than-usual summer Hellatus.

Something you may have noticed is that I’ve said there are eight weeks left. There are only seven weeks for the finale, with Episode 14 airing tonight. This suggests that there will be a week off at some point during the next string of episodes. If The CW plays this right, the break will be in the middle of the block, giving us a run of three and then a run of four episodes (or vice versa).

The other option could be that The CW takes the week of Easter off from new programming. This would be April 18 sees a rerun, so the week before the finale. That doesn’t make all that much sense, except for the fact that it’s Easter week. So you never know! I’ll be sure to keep you updated about this week off.

With April 25 being the confirmed finale date, it’s possible to confirm that May 3 will be when the show comes to Netflix U.S. This is as long as the Netflix/CW deal remains in place because it does come up for renewal at some point during the spring.
