In Supernatural Season 14, Episode 16, the sheriff brought up the idea of the Winchesters telling the world about monsters. Is this something that should eventually happen? I’m not so sure.

The SPN Family has debated a hot topic from Supernatural Season 14, Episode 16. The sheriff brought up the idea of the Winchesters telling the world about monsters. They could put all the tips on YouTube. Why not get rid of the burden of doing it themselves?

With the fandom and the brothers divided on the opinion, it’s worth debating the subject. After all, telling the world about monsters and allowing everyone to fight off the things that go bump in the night would offer the Winchesters a chance to retire, right?

Well, in a perfect world, sure. Knowing enough about monsters, demons, ghosts, and everything else would certainly give innocent people a fighting chance. But Sam has a very good point and reason not to tell the world: too many people would die. And it’s because of this that I don’t think the Winchesters ever should put their stuff on YouTube.

While knowledge is important, it’s not the only thing that will keep people protected. You just have to look at the hunters in the bunker. They were armed with knowledge, weapons, and a team but Michael still killed them all. We’ve watched multiple hunters along the way killed by various creatures. Knowledge isn’t everything.

If you told the world, there would be some who wouldn’t believe. We just have to look at science and facts and how they can be twisted. Just recently, I heard people refusing to believe that the Lisbon Treaty had been in place since 2009 because one person spouted the rumor that it was coming in 2020. And that’s law! Not something crazy like monsters and the supernatural.

Those who did believe wouldn’t necessarily have the training to fight against the monsters of the world. The Winchesters had an ex-marine for a father to help them. Mary Winchester had been raised in a family of hunters. Not everyone has access to that or the ability to fight off humans, let along monsters.

There will be some who rush in without thinking. THey’ll race in without thinking and there’s a lot of risk of people killing other humans without looking at all the facts.

Just think of the Salem Witch Trials in 1962. All people needed was an idea of witches and they accused innocent people. If humans believe there are monsters out there, they’ll just need that excuse to commit murder. Is that what we’d really want?

Okay, so I have little faith in humanity. I don’t believe in the good in the world because I’ve seen too much evil. There are too many innocent people who could get hurt if the Winchesters told the world about monsters, so this is something that should just stay between those who have become hunters.
