Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2 premiere recap

The second part of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina debuted on Friday on Netflix, was the premiere good?

Not a bad premiere of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2. We see a darker side to Sabrina now that she’s signed her name in the Book of the Beast in the Part 1 finale. It was obvious that we were going to see Sabrina not as innocent as we’re used to.

What happens in the Part 2 premiere? Let’s go over the major events, below.

The “Top Boy” role

At the Academy of Unseen Arts, Nicholas Scratch (who’s also a running candidate) and Prudence Night nominate Sabrina as a to run for “Top Boy.” Whoever wins the role will be serving as a liaison between the students and faculty.

The competition to win the “Top Boy” role is for boys only, so someone may have had an issue with this, hence why demons are chasing after Sabrina. Prudence and Nicholas are both supporting Sabrina, so it wasn’t them who summoned the demons.

The mockery was about Nicholas and Sabrina going together against Father Blackwood by summoning the three demons and commanding them to tell who sent the demons after her. They accused Father Blackwood (the Dean of the school) as one of the suspects which he was beyond angry about. Both Sabrina and Nicholas end up being disqualified from the competition as they were making a mockery of the Academy of Unseen Arts.

Aunt Hilda, Sabrina and Ambrose

Aunt Hilda notices Sabrina not being herself anymore after she hears Sabrina using her powers upstairs on Ambrose. Sabrina is practically rude to Ambrose, asking if it’s his boyfriend, Luke, who’s sending three demons (at separate times) after Sabrina with rats, flies, and bats.

Aunt Hilda wants Sabrina to return to Baxter High in the mortal world and to see her old friends. She wants this for her niece because she isn’t her old self anymore.

Sabrina supporting her friends Harvey and Theo

Sabrina heads to Baxter High to support Harvey and Theo (formerly Susie) to help them make the basketball team. The coach didn’t let Theo try out for the team as he says “no girls are allowed.” Theo heads to principal Mary Wardwell’s office and complains about not being allowed to try out for basketball. Principal Mary Wardwell isn’t pleased to hear about this and tells the coach to allow her to try out for the team.

If I also understood correctly, by the end of the second part premiere, Mary Wardwell was behind the demons chasing Sabrina. Mary summoned the Dark Lord, telling him that she suspects that Sabrina is much more important to his plans than the Dark Lord led Mary to believe. I’m not sure if I’m looking into this too much, but that’s what it appears to me.

Two interesting things that have happened so far:

Rosalind holds Harvey’s hand, and we see something happening in the future: Harvey and Rosalind are kissing against the lockers. According to TV Line, Jaz Sinclair told reporters that both characters are right for each other:

"The Harvey-Roz pairing “kind of was a surprise,” but that the two are ultimately right for one another. “It almost feels like … an older version of Roz and Harvey come together, because their relationship dynamic is just so different than Sabrina and Harvey,” she said. Added Ross Lynch, “With Sabrina out of the picture, they realize they’ve always been really good friends, they’ve always had a good connection and they quite like each other.”"

This second thing may not be as interesting or surprising as we think. Netflix released pictures of Sabrina in a love triangle between Harvey and Nicholas. Nicholas is flirting with Sabrina, and she is enjoying his company. Will they both be off the market soon? Probably, it seems it’s only a matter of time before romance begins.
