New plans are set in motion and unexpected connections are uncovered as the team works to track down 2 important swords on tonight’s @ShadowhuntersTV. Here’s what you need to know (spoiler-free) about #Shadowhunters Season 3, Episode 17, #HeavenlyFire.

What! A! Cliffhanger! On last week’s episode of Shadowhunters, Alec was able to convince Lorenzo to undo Magnus’ magic transfusion, but Magnus deeply struggled with the idea of returning to his magic-less self. What Magnus doesn’t know, however, is that Alec’s asked Maryse for the Lightwood family ring and is planning to propose.

Clary, Jace, Simon and Isabelle were able to successfully summon Lilith, thanks in large part to Clary’s rune-creation abilities and Isabelle’s reimagined Malachi configuration, but the team didn’t know that they’d be pulling Lilith away from an “important” meeting with Jonathan (and that Cain would betray them to help Lilith).

Maryse visited Luke in prison and was so excited to tell him that she purchased the bookstore, but Luke tried telling her not to come visit him anymore (it’s okay, because we know this ship is eventually going to sail). At the end of the episode, Luke was mysteriously bailed out by a guy we have very little trust for who said he was from the Praetor Lupus — but after remembering a few horrifying Luke-related images from the Season 3B trailer, Luke’s change in custody is making us very nervous.

In Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 17, we know from the episode trailer that Simon and Izzy will be teaming up once more to try and see what the Clave is hiding, especially now that it could be connected to the Glorious sword.

We also know that Clary’s going to be conflicted about Jonathan, who’s now a prisoner a la Hannibal in the Institute basement, and that Jace is . (Is anyone else getting major Season 2B Valentine flashbacks?). And, oh yeah, Alec is planning to ask Magnus out on a special dinner where he plans to PROPOSE. We’re totally fine…

There weren’t any new photos released for “Heavenly Fire” this week, but some exciting sneak peeks and an episode trailer gave us several major hints about what we can expect to see in the episode. Here’s what you need to know:
