SEAL Team Season 2, Episode 20 was a relatively tame episode until the very end. Now the life of one of our own is at risk after a bad jump.

Caution: There are spoilers in this post for SEAL Team Season 2, Episode 20.

Let’s be honest; SEAL Team Season 2, Episode 20 led us into a false sense of security. The drama looked to be focused on Jason and Ray at loggerheads, as both continued their downward spiral. What we didn’t expect was a parachute jump to go wrong at the very end.

We should have known this would happen. SEAL Team has just two episodes left of the season. Of course, things were going to heat up. And what better way than leaving us with questions about whether one of Bravo Team would survive. It’s not like we haven’t had enough death and loss throughout this season!

Well, all eyes are on Ray. After jumping out of a plane, comms suddenly went. Ray’s voice could be heard saying “tell Naima I love her” and then his comms were too crackly to hear anything. Jason came over the radio to explain Ray had to cut away his shoot.

It’s okay! We can stay calm right now. There’s an emergency chute, right?

Well, it sounds like that never deployed. Jason, relatively calmly although that would come with training, shared that they’d “lost Ray.” Does that mean they’ve just lost sight of him or does it mean Ray is dead?

There are answers to this based on images released for the SEAL Team season finale, which will air in three weeks. There are also clues from the synopsis for next week’s episode. Rather than give you the answers from the images for the finale (I just don’t think that’s fair for those who want to remain somewhat spoiler-free for last week), I’ll share the synopsis for the next episode.

If you don’t want the exact answer and you’re just curious about the ending to “Rock Bottom,” this is where you can turn away. Otherwise, scroll past the image to get to the synopsis.

"Bravo Team desperately searches for Ray after he gets separated from it while in enemy territory."

It sounds like Ray does survive the fall. Jason’s calm voice is because he knows that Ray didn’t fall to the ground without a chute — hey, we’ve already seen one failed parachute jump in the very first season and the writer’s wouldn’t deliver two, right? — but has been “lost” because he’s been separated.

Phew! I am guessing that this is going to be something that helps Ray find his faith again. I hope it is. I’m glad the show is willing to tell these real stories but it’s hard watching our favorites struggle, right?
