4 Supernatural Season 4 episodes to rewatch over and over again
Supernatural Season 4 is one of the strongest seasons of the whole series. There are some excellent episodes to rewatch, and here are the top four.
When it comes to memorable seasons, Supernatural Season 4 is likely one of the seasons at the top of your list. It’s the season that introduced Castiel, who was never supposed to become the character he is today but quickly proved to be a fan favorite.

The downside of the season is that it’s the first that has an over-arching storyline. Not that I’m saying this is a bad thing overall. But while there are plenty of lore-heavy episodes, it can be hard to throw one on when you just want to laugh or reminisce. You end up having to remember where you are within the storyline.

You want to find episodes that are more standalone than anything else. There are a few episodes that offer that and are funny and entertaining at the same time. In fact, there are more than just a few, but you don’t necessarily have the time to watch the whole season.
So, with that in mind, it’s time to look at the top episodes. Here are the top four episodes in Season 4 to rewatch over and over again, without worrying about the order.
Episode 1: Lazarus Rising
While this is an episode that links to the overall storyline of the season, it’s also the Supernatural Season 4 episode, so it can be watched on its own. You’ll want to rewatch this over and over again for one thing: Castiel’s introduction. It really is the best character introduction the series has offered, with Death and Jack close behind.
However, there are many other reasons to watch this episode routinely. You’ll get the humorous moments when Dean comes back from the dead and there are the emotional moments when he returns to Sam. Of course, there are all the questions that immediately arise that get you excited about the show all over again. If you’re stuck in a rut, put this episode on right away.
Episode 3: In the Beginning
We turn to the third episode of the season. While there is a bit of a larger storyline at play here, “In the Beginning” can work well as a good episode to throw on for entertainment. It’s also important when you need a reminder of some of the character development for Dean.
This episode gives us a young Mary and John Winchester. We get to see Mary as a hunter, getting to know more about who she is rather than the memory that she’s become for the Winchester men. The episode also sees how Baby became part of the Winchesters’ lives and gives us Samuel Campbell for the first time.
There are some funny moments, but this episode is best for the overall storyline.
Episode 6: Yellow Fever
When you think of Season 4 episodes, there are high chances that you’ll consider “Yellow Fever” as one of the best. Well, it shouldn’t be surprising that it’s one of the episodes on this list. As well as being a hilarious episode, it’s also a standalone one that is excellent to just put on whenever.
The episode focuses on a vengeful spirit who attacks bullies. And you know that Dean can be a bully at times. Just how crazy does he get when he’s infected with the ghost sickness?
Episode 13: After School Special
This is the episode that takes us to the past. We see the Winchesters head back to a school they spent a few weeks at as kids when John was on a hunt. Naturally, they start to think back to their time at the school.
Supernatural Season 4 was a chance to explore the characters a little more, seeing them through each others’ eyes. “After School Special” was the chance for Sam to look back at his view of himself and Dean, trying to figure out if hunting really was something he wanted.
It’s an important episode in terms of character development for the Winchesters. However, overall, it’s a monster-of-the-week episode that can be watched completely out of order.
