Supernatural Season 14 ended with God killing Jack and releasing souls from Hell. Billie knew that something bad would happen. Is this what is was?

Supernatural Season 14 saw God bring the ending to his story. He released the souls from Hell after killing Jack, making it clear that this was the end for the Winchesters. Was this the end that Billie knew about?

Earlier in the season, Billie had warned Dean of something bad coming. After Dean locked Michael in his head, all his books changed with the same ending. All except one. That one book meant that Dean had to lock himself away for eternity in the Ma’lak box, which is something that Sam eventually talked him out of.

Of course, we know how it all played out. But many thought that Michael would end up taking control and destroying the world. Little did we know that God would eventually come back into this.

Could this be the end that Billie always knew about? She would have access to every one of Dean’s books. However, knowing about this ending would suggest that Dean dies because of God releasing the spirits from Hell. I get the feeling that’s not going to happen—although he could certainly die and then come back to life. This is Supernatural after all!

This could be the ending, but this suggests that it’s not possible to change destiny. We already know that destiny can be changed. The books have already changed once. All of Dean’s books had a different ending before he locked Michael away into his head.

It’s possible that this is the ending in the books, but that doesn’t mean it has to be the permanent ending. Billie knows that the books have changed. She will also want to create balance again. While Old Death told Dean that he would reap God one day, he never said that would mean all of the world would be destroyed in the process. He never even hinted that it would mean the Winchesters would die.

Billie clearly accepts that the books can change. Destiny isn’t written forever, which means that free will can exist. It also means that while this could be the current ending she saw, it’s not the final ending. She wants Jack for something, and I’m assuming that’s to put the endings to Dean’s books back to the way they were.
