No Good Nick has no good news for its fans this weekend, Netflix has cancelled the comedy drama! Did you see this coming?

Melissa Joan Hart’s dramedy has been axed by Netflix after one season, which, in my opinion, was essentially two seasons. Season 1 contains 20 episodes, but were split into two parts. The first half of No Good Nick premiered April 15 on the streaming giant, but the back half wasn’t released until Aug. 5. Although the series never truly attracted a massive following or kept people talking on social media, it receive decent attention, particularly from those who are fans of Hart’s work.

No Good Nick follows Nicole, a 13-year-old girl who claims to be an orphan and is taken in by a family. In reality, Nicole aka Nick has plans to get revenge on her foster family after they “unknowingly ruined her life.” It’s a fun and lighthearted comedy that keeps many secrets.

Unfortunately, the mystery wasn’t enough to keep audiences interested as ratings is the main reason Netflix cancels shows. No Good Nick also starred Siena Agudong, Lauren Lindsey Donzis, Kalama Epstein, and Sean Astin.

This isn’t the most disappointing cancellation from Netflix, though. Admittedly, I wasn’t a fan of No Good Nick, but the streaming giant did previously cancel The OA and Santa Clarita Diet. The new animated series Tuca & Bertie was also not given much of a chance.

From these three, The OA has caused the biggest uproar, with many fans protesting and demanding its renewal. Santa Clarita‘s cancellation was also upsetting as it ended with a massive cliffhanger.
