“Back and to the Future” is the title for Supernatural Season 15, Episode 1. Here’s a look at what could happen based on the title.

By now, you will have heard of the title for Supernatural Season 15, Episode 1. The premiere is called “Back and to the Future,” which I’m sure you can guess what has inspired it. But what could it mean for the episode?

“Back and to the Future” is clearly inspired by the Back to the Future franchise. This isn’t the first time the show has referenced the movie franchise in some sort of way. You just have to watch Season 4’s “In the Beginning” to see a number of references to the movies.

However, what does the title mean? What could it suggest is going to happen in the episode? Will the Winchesters go time traveling?

The Winchesters traveling through time right now is unlikely. Instead, the title is likely a link to the fact that monsters of the past are back. We know that the Woman in White and Bloody Mary are back from the very first season. In fact, the Woman in White was the first-ever spirit we saw the Winchesters take down, and now she’s back for vengeance.

There will also likely be plenty of throwbacks throughout the premiere episode. We’ve already seen a few in the Season 15 promo, including the iconic “we’ve got work to do” statement as the trunk of Baby is closed.

What about the other characters going to the future or even back to the past? Could we see Jack do a little time traveling to help Billie with whatever plans she has? Maybe, but I don’t suspect that will come up in the premiere episode. I have a feeling Jack’s storyline will be held for the second episode, similarly to the way Mary and Lucifer’s storyline was held for the second episode of Season 13.
