The crime drama follows Malcom Bright, played by Tom Payne, a criminal psychologist unlike anyone else who aides the NYPD with his contorted wisdom in solving crimes and bringing a swift halt to murderers.

However, while Tom is aiding the NYPD, he is, on the side, balancing his mother, who is manipulative, and his father, who is a serial killer trying to establish an emotional and everlasting bond with his son. You know, just your everyday normal stuff.

Tom’s sole confidant is his sister, Ainsley. She is a TV journalist who is doing her very best to get Tom on a path of life that does not involve those who are no longer breathing. Thing is, this is easier said than done as Tom only feels normal when his is alongside NYPD Detective Gil Arroyo.

A mentor to Tom, Gil is one of the best detectives on the force. On his team is Detective JT Tarmel, who questions whether Tom really is who he says he is — A psychopath, perhaps?
