Sam and Dean head out on a case involving a vampire. Meanwhile, God turns to an old friend for help. Here’s a look at Supernatural Season 15, Episode 4.

The Winchesters head back to high school to deal with the case of a vampire. However, they’re both struggling with the events of the last few episodes. Meanwhile, God turns to an old friend for some help. Here’s everything that happened in Supernatural Season 15, Episode 4.

A somewhat simple case of the week

The monster-of-the-week was pretty standard until the end. The Winchesters knew they were dealing with a vampire, but they had to figure out who that vampire was. At first, they thought it was the third in line to be head of the cheerleading squad, but braces ruled her out.

After running the CCTV, they got a number plate and it turned out to be the boyfriend of the first victim. However, the Winchesters initially thought it was the father. The boy soon owned up to the entire situation.

This is where it got a little different. The boy agreed to head off with the Winchesters to kill him, sharing that he’d killed his girlfriend by mistake and he couldn’t control the vampire inside of him.

It was all about grief

For the Winchesters, it was mostly about the loss of Rowena, Jack, Mary, and so many others recently. Dean tried to help his brother before the case, but it was after that Dean made a point that they are free from God now. He is finally able to feel something positive about the future.

Sam can’t feel that way. He admits that he still thinks of Jessica, so he can’t just move on and forget. Of course, that’s not what Dean meant, but it shows the depths of Sam’s feelings at this point. As much as I hate to see Sam hurting, I need to see the writers follow through with this storyline.

It’s not the only thing going on with Sam right now. We finally get some answers about the flash he saw in the Supernatural Season 15 premiere.

A flash of another dimension

The episode starts in the bunker, but it’s not our bunker. We have Dean from an alternate world, fighting a bunch of demons that are attacking.

Dean gets into a room, where he finds Benny, who has been gravely injured. Yes, Benny returned and in a way that feels honest for the series. After all, we can believe that Dean would somehow come across Benny in this world and they’d fight side-by-side.

But that wasn’t the biggest shocker. Remember in the flash we saw Sam give a dark look and Dean collapse to the floor? This was that moment. In this world, Sam gave in to the demon blood and became a demon himself. It’s clear from the conversation that he’s already killed Bobby and Jody, and now with a twitch, Sam snaps Dean’s neck.

Sam wakes up from the nightmare, but we know that it’s not a nightmare. Somehow, Sam is seeing alternate worlds, which must connect to that bullet wound and God.

Speaking of God…

God turns to an old friend for help

During the summer break, Jensen Ackles told us that a “fan-favorite” would return. This character hadn’t been seen since Season 7 and wasn’t even in the business anymore. If you guessed Emily Perkins was returning, you’d be right!

After being turned down by Amara in Supernatural Season 15, Episode 2, God turned to Becky for help. It looked like he needed a pep talk, and there was a minute of sympathy for him.

Becky, who is doing extremely well for herself and we agree that fan fiction is still writing, convinces God to start writing again. While she likes the new addition he offers, she has some notes. That leads to her needing something original, something bigger, something more dangerous.

And that’s it! That’s the thing that tips God back over the edge. He does write a dramatic ending, something that will mean the cover has just a gravestone with the word “Winchester” on it.

Becky is terrified of the ending. She’s angry and upset about it, and that makes God happy. This is what he wants to make happen, and nobody is getting in his way. In fact, he makes Becky and her entire family (yes, she has a husband and two kids) disappear from existence so he can stay in her house and just write.

Uh oh!
