Nancy Drew returned from winter break down while One Chicago’s lineup was up. Here’s a look at the Wednesday TV ratings for Jan. 16.

The TV ratings for Jan. 16 are in. For the most part, they’re relatively stable. However, Nancy Drew returned from winter break down, as One Chicago was mostly up. Here’s a full look at the results.

Let’s start with Nancy Drew, which returned from its winter break with a case-of-the-week episode. It wouldn’t have helped that the network brought the series back without Riverdale to lead in, which certainly would have affected the 33% drop in the demo and 10% drop in the total audience.

Of course, there’s nothing to worry about Nancy Drew. The series has been renewed for a second season, so the figures are just to see if the Wednesday night is working.

Meanwhile, FOX had a relatively good night. Flirty Dancing ticked up in both metrics, although the numbers are still on the low side. Almost Family was stable, but I still believe this show is going to be canceled after this season.

CBS’ night was mixed. While Undercover Boss and Criminal Minds were stable in the demo and up in the total audience, SWAT was down 24% in the total audience. It continues the reminder the Wednesday nights aren’t good.

It’s worth noting that ABC also struggled in the 10 p.m. slot, with Stumptown losing 20% of its demo and 8% of its audience. And yet, Chicago PD was up 10% in the demo (although 3% down in the total audience).

Out of the three One Chicago shows, Chicago PD‘s dip was the only one of the night. Both Chicago Med and Chicago Fire were up in both metrics, with Med coming in top in the audience after a 12% uptick. Both shows were joint in the demo at 1.2, proving the best of the night with PD‘s 1.1 demo second best.

I doubt there’s anything to worry about for the One Chicago lineup just yet. The only thing that will see Fire potentially canceled is if Eamonn Walker or one of the other main characters decides to leave.

And what about the comedy lineup over on ABC? That wasn’t all that great. All shows saw dips or were just steady. Single Parents saw the biggest dip, losing 33% of its demo and 25% of its total audience. I have a feeling the series will be canceled this year.
