Just because you ran away with your attractive ex does not mean it’s going to be smooth sailing. Ruby decided to run because she was bored with her mundane lifestyle. However, Billy’s story seems complicated and the third episode of HBO’s Run should peel back more layers into his past.
HBO Run’s second episode picks up when Billy texted Ruby, “RUN.” Billy is crying and decides to run away from Fiona, who may be his ex, and text Ruby. Back on the train, Ruby and Billy decide to stay in a tiny roomette for the night.
The episode’s title was “Kiss,” and that’s precisely what happened. Ruby and Billy passionately make out despite continuously banging into the wall inside the tiny room. It’s clear that Ruby wants to have sex, but Billy hesitates when Ruby’s husband calls. Billy feels guilty that Ruby left her husband and two children to honor their pact.

While talking to her husband, Ruby notifies him that she won’t be back for a week, and he lets her off the hook. Looking for satisfaction, Ruby decides to seduce the next guy she sees, who ends up being a passenger named Derek. Although they don’t have sex, Derek hilariously talks dirty to Ruby so she can share it with Billy to make him jealous.
While Ruby is with Derek, Billy learns more about Ruby’s husband, Laurence, on Facebook. We also learn more about Fiona. Although we only hear Billy on the phone, Billy states that it’s over to Fiona and he’ll continue to run away.
Later, Billy takes a jab at Ruby’s age, and the episode ends with Ruby getting off the train in Chicago. However, Ruby runs into a roadblock when her credit card declines. She attempts to call her husband for answers, but he leaves a humiliating notice on the answering machine, questioning why Ruby would walk out on her family.
The third episode of HBO’s Run is titled, “F*ck.” Now, this could mean one of two things. Either Billy and Ruby finally get it on, or things are about to take a turn for the worse. In the promo video, Ruby and Billy decide to spend the day in Chicago before they continue their travels. While Ruby hangs out with a new friend, Billy continues to delay the impending threat that is Fiona. What is he hiding and how much trouble is he in?
