The first all-star was evicted as Big Brother 22 crowned the next HOH

One week after the live move-in premiere, the gaming on Big Brother 22 has already begun. After Cody won the first HOH competition, he nominated Keesha and Kevin for eviction, but Enzo’s Power of Veto win didn’t change those nominations. Of course, the three-week Safety Suite twist threw a wrench in Cody’s plans to target two of the most powerful all-stars.

Despite widespread hesitance to display distrust in the HOH, Kaysar and Janelle bit the bullet and competed in the Safety Suite. Kaysar won and chose Janelle as his plus one, ensuring their safety from the block for the first week. Rather than taking the opportunity to backdoor another big target, Cody and the rest of the all-stars tried not to make waves leading into the first eviction.

Who was evicted first on Big Brother 22?

Although the house went back and forth on who would stay and who would go between Keesha and Kevin, Keesha was evicted by a unanimous vote. Honestly, there was no good outcome with this first-week eviction since both Keesha and Kevin are beloved veterans fans wanted to see play again.

It stings that Keesha came back after all these years and wound up the first evictee. Of course, she could have campaigned a little harder, but we hate to see her go so soon nonetheless.

Keesha deserved much better from an all-stars season, and an all-stars season deserves more than unanimous votes and timid gameplay. Cody’s nominations were a cop-out and an insulting excuse to “not get blood on his hands.”

While it’s admirable for the cast to not want to play too hard too soon, someone needs to make the first strike and draw some lines in the sand. As a certain all-star once said, this is Big Brother, not Big Baby.

How will the second HOH shake up the game?

During the second HOH competition, which was a memory game in booths, Memphis walked away with the win, his first HOH win ever. There’s no telling which direction he will take with his nominations, but considering his close alliance with Cody, it seems unlikely that he will nominate Janelle and Kaysar, the two biggest targets in the house, just yet.

On the other hand, Memphis could concoct a backdoor plot, but we can’t get our hopes up for a blindside or big move in the second week — even if this is all-stars. With the Safety Suite still in play for two more weeks, Memphis will have to contend with who plays and who wins in the competition, especially within his own alliance, before making his decision for nominations.
