New Netflix movies and shows to stream Sept. 18-20

Ratched (premiere date Sept. 18): The suspenseful drama follows Mildred Ratched, the infamous character from the novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey. The series is from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, and tells the origin story of the asylum nurse. Who and how was Ratched before turning into the wicked, manipulative nurse we met in the original novel?

The Devil All the Time (premiere date Sept. 16): Earlier this month, Netflix premiered The Devil All the Timestarring Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and others. If you missed it, this weekend is a great time to watch it.

However, I’m not sure if I would recommend it over everything else that is streaming. Let’s just say, the movie isn’t for everyone so I have to include it here. It’s slow-paced, features unnecessary characters, it is depressing and overly violent. But that’s just my two cents! Watch it for yourself.

The Last Word (premiered date Sept. 17): Ratched and The Devil All the Time may have made you overlook this Netflix original series. The Last Word follows Karla Fazius (Anke Engelke) as her world breaks apart after the sudden death of her husband.

Karla finds a new joy in life when she becomes a eulogist, and is determined to prove that death does not have the last word.

Whipped  (premiere date Sept. 18): If death, suspense, and violence isn’t what you want to be watching this weekend (and we don’t blame you), how about something ridiculous that’ll have you laughing?

The movie follows a group of friends who have severe love issues! In order to stop falling in love and getting their heart broken, they enroll in an “anti-whipped” class, but it’s not what they expected at all.
