Watch out, Baby-Sitter’s Club, there’s a new group of teens in town, and they’re taking on some supernatural enemies. Based on the popular book series of the same name, A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting is a new movie debuting this Halloween season online.
With many movie theaters closed around the country, the ability to release new movies online and stream them from home has become even more welcomed this year. Though this movie was always slated to be released on a streaming platform, it’s one of the few new movies available this season, and we cannot wait to check it out at the height of Halloween season.
The movie follows high school freshman Kelly Ferguson, who spends her Halloween night working as a babysitter for a boy in her neighborhood. But when the boy is taken by a monster, Kelly is recruited into a secret society made up of other babysitters whose mission is to protect kids from monsters.
With comedy, adventure, and supernatural stakes, this hero’s journey story looks to be a fun Halloween movie to add to your spooky holiday streaming list.

A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting stars Tamara Smart as Kelly Ferguson, Oona Laurence as Liz Lerue, Tom Felton as The Grand Guignol, Indya Moore as Peggy Drood, Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson as Berna Vincent, Lynn Masako Cheng as Cassie Zhen, Ty Consiglio as Curtis Critter, Ian Ho as Jacob Zellman, and Linden Porco as Toadie, along with Alessio Scalzotto and Tamsen McDonough.
The book series by Joe Ballarini is a trilogy, and though this Netflix movie will only cover the story from the first book, it’s possible that we could see sequels in the future.
