Are you ready to understand more of the mysteries around the world? Science Channel has set the date for an all-new season of Unearthed.
The new season of Unearthed will premiere on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 9/8c on Science Channel. We couldn’t be more excited.
As with previous seasons, the show will travel the globe to look at some of history’s most iconic sites. We’ll have expert insight, scientific investigations, and beautiful CGI work to tell the full story of what happened in these locations.
What will happen in the Unearthed premiere?
The premiere will focus on the secrets of the Persian empire. This empire once ruled more than 40% of the world’s population. And like so many other empires before and after it, suddenly it failed and lost everything. The Persian empire is now just part of history, part of the stories we watch play out on screen or tell to our children.

What made this empire so great? What caused its demise? These are questions many people have asked for decades. Unearthed will give us some of the answers.
Archeologists have rare access to Persepolis and other rare sites. They’ll start up new excavations with new technology, giving us a chance to learn more about the amazing story.
Experts will travel to beneath Persepolis’s grand palace, where a hidden network of tunnels is waiting for them.

The Persian empire is just the first episode. There’s plenty more to come, including a look inside the Ziggurat of Ur, once Mesopotamia’s most powerful city.
One of the biggest events is going to be later in the season. Unearthed cameras have the exclusive chance to enter inside the mysterious Lahun pyramid in Egypt. The secrets there have been hidden for 4,000 years, and now it’s time to unearth some.
