Here’s a look at the live TV ratings from Monday, Nov. 9

The Good Doctor continued its pandemic storyline while Dancing With the Stars had icon night. It’s time to break down the live TV ratings from Monday, Nov. 9.

CBS had a night of reruns of its usual lineup. The network is getting ready for The NeighborhoodBob Hearts AbisholaAll Rise, and Bull to return this month. There isn’t much longer to wait.

And despite the reruns, the network came out on top in the 9/8c slot against the episodes that started in that block. It was also third in the 8/7c only behind the new episodes of the scripted shows.

Granted, The CW had a night of reruns, too. Whose Line Is It Anyway and Penn & Teller: Fool Us continue to be popular reruns, pulling in the same viewer ratings as most newer episodes of the same series.

NBC vs. ABC in the reality programs

New episodes of The Voice and Dancing with the Stars aired on Monday, Nov. 9. The shows went head-to-head, matching for the top demo rating with 1.0. The Voice was ahead in the audience with 7.1 million viewers vs. Dancing with the Stars‘s 6.3 million.

However, it’s worth pointing out that The Voice was down again compared to last Monday’s metrics. It lost 7% of its audience and 13% of its demo. This isn’t surprising at this point in the show. The blind auditions tend to see the drops with the elimination rounds seeing the upward ticks.

Dancing with the Stars was up 18% in the demo and 13% in the total audience. It looks like the changes have been positive after all. It wasn’t all about Carole Baskin as some suspected.

FOX and the rest in the live TV ratings

NBC continued with new episodes of Weakest Link, which followed The Voice‘s stats. Both metrics fell, with the demo fall in double digits. I don’t think this is anything to worry about. Game shows can have lower ratings than other shows because they tend to be cheaper to produce. They also make good summer programming.

ABC had a new episode of The Good Doctor, continuing with its pandemic storyline. The episode ticked up 6% in the audience, claiming top spot of the timeslot. In fact, it was the third-best show of the night in both the audience and demo, behind The Voice and Dancing with the Stars.

The dips from the premiere may have been partly due to the delay in the return or the decision to opt for a pandemic storyline. We’ll have to wait to see how the show stabilizes, but there’s a good chance it will be renewed already.

FOX isn’t have the best of luck with its Monday night programming. While LA’s Finest was up 8% in the audience, it’s too little too late. Spectrum has already canceled the show, and the ratings possibly aren’t good enough for FOX to save it.

Filthy Rich has already been canceled, so there’s not as much point looking at the ratings anymore. We won’t do in detail from next Monday, but this week saw a 33% dip in the demo to a 0.2 rating. That’s an average for The CW, so will be concerning for FOX.
