Kailyn Lowry’s Christmas is looking very different this year, reports People.

Last week, the Teen Mom 2 star shared her surprising change of holiday plans during an episode of her podcast, Coffee Convos. The famous mom-of-four revealed to co-host and friend, Lindsie Chrisley, that she won’t be spending Christmas with her kids.

The question is, of course, why not?

During the episode, Lowry seemed okay enough with the situation and her decision, telling Chrisley she’s “pretty sure” that all of her children are going to “be with their dads” for most of Christmas Day.

Lowry shares Isaac, 10, with Jo Rivera, Lincoln, 7, with Javi Marroquin, and two sons (Lux, 3, and Creed, 3 months) with on-again, but still off-again ex, Chris Lopez.

“So I feel like maybe by then it would be over but also I don’t know,” Kailyn explains. According to the 28-year-old, no festive family plans includes not “giving each other stuff” this Christmas. For right now, at least. Kailyn does admit that things could change between now and then, adding “it might be kind of nice to give each other something, so maybe we’ll see.”

So how did this plan come to be? Well, Lowry claims it was an effort to value the quality time spent over the quantity of gifts purchased, more or less. And no, she’s not exactly thrilled about it. She explains, “It is kind of sad, and I get that. I definitely get that. I just feel like it’s a lot and the amount of money that I was spending on Christmas gifts and then I was only getting them for half the day and then I had to share.” Fair enough.

Added to the cost of Christmas, Lowry admits that having different baby daddies in different areas played a part in her bah humbug plans. So perhaps, her efforts to keep everyone happy, within reason, is the gift she’ll be giving this year. Kailyn reveals, “there was just so much going on that I was never gonna have three happy dad situations.” And that much, I believe without question.
