McGee and Delilah’s vacation becomes a search for a killer on NCIS Season 18, Episode 4

NCIS returned for its first episode of 2021 with the team working a case as McGee and his wife, Delilah, try to enjoy a much needed vacation to the Bahamas. But as we all know, nothing can really be that simple for the agents when they attempt to take time off.

The CBS series returned with NCIS Season 18, Episode 4 and brought with it plenty of twists and surprising revelations. How did McGee and Delilah’s trip end for the couple who just wanted to reconnect?

The pact

More from CBS

The case the team are involved in involves Petty Officer Norman Mason, a navy reservist who works at an escape room on the side. When the case appears to involve the possible sale of classified information, the team discovers he was making frequent phone calls to the Bahamas.

Even though they make a pact not to discuss work or their children, McGee and Delilah get caught up in the case. Delilah, who notices a longtime couple getting very heated while out eating, immediately wants to help so she can do something exciting with her husband.

Twists and Turns

Just when you think you know what is going on with the case, plot twists keep coming and coming. When the investigation leads them to discovering that Mason appeared to be looking into the supposed drowning death of a colleague, Dr. Malcolm Lucas, it leads to a surprising revelation about the man in question. He had created an underwater drone he thought was being used for geo-mapping, but was actually supposed to be a weapon.

He had faked his death in order to put an end to the project. However, things never stayed hidden and it turned out someone was attempting to have it brought on again. At first, it looked like you knew who was behind everything. But just when you thought you knew how the case would turn out, more and more information just kept our heads spinning!

McGee and Delilah are always fun to watch together. We may not get to see her often, but their chemistry continues to strengthen with each glimpse of the couple. There is never a doubt that these two are so great together and that no matter what life throws their way, they can get through whatever situation they are in with each other.

Search for Fornell

Elsewhere in the episode, Gibbs is also trying to find Fornell. He is off the grid, not answering his phone, and he missed his daughter’s six-month recognition ceremony in rehab.

The search for Fornell is a foreshadow for the next episode. When Gibbs searches Fornell’s place and discovers evidence of blood, he realizes it’s time for the rest of the team to be brought in. He discusses this with Vance over the phone after Kasie positively identifies it as Fornell’s blood. It looks like the answers to questions brought up in the NCIS Season 18 premiere are coming to light.
