Where can you stream Sonic the Hedgehog 2? Is Sonic 2 on HBO Max?

After the massive success of the original, our favorite hedgehog is heading back into theaters this weekend. With Sonic the Hedgehog 2 hitting theaters, the week’s big question is, will Sonic 2 be available on the small screen, big screen, or both? We’ve got all the details so you don’t miss out!

I remember when the first Sonic the Hedgehog trailer dropped and people went off because they didn’t love how Sonic looked. We all thought the movie was doomed when they went back into reshoot and changed his look to be more authentic. We all ended up eating a lot of crow as the film became one of the best video game-based films.

Sonic is back, but he has added everyone’s favorite pal from the video game in Tails this time. But with him getting one over on Dr. Robotnik in the last movie, the good doc has his special partner by his side in this one, Knuckles. So will Sonic and Tails be able to take down the dynamic duo? Only time will tell.

I am rather excited about the fact we have Idris Elba joining as Knuckles. It doesn’t matter if he is on-screen or behind the voice of an animated character, Elba is the best of the best in the world of film. Also, I love seeing the return of Jim Carrey and am excited to see him explore Dr. Robotnik even more.

Where can you stream the Sonic 2 movie online from home?

Sadly, you can’t. We will see more and more films stick to theatrical release only as we move past the pandemic, especially with these bigger budget films needing the box office returns.

The film has already been released in some territories overseas and has garnered a great reception. So I wouldn’t expect this movie to underperform at all with the lack of family films being released in theaters lately.

I would keep an eye out on this potentially coming to Paramount+ in a few months, though. The turnaround for Jackass Forever was about three months, I think we may see it a little further out, but it could be sooner depending on how the film does at the box office overall. We’ll keep you posted!
