When is the first episode of Black Bird on Apple TV+?

Overall, Apple TV+ puts out great content. Just look at its original series Physical and most recent film Cha Cha Real Smooth. Another production I think will be added to its list of successes is Black Bird.

One reason I think it will get people tuning in is the fact that it’s inspired by true events. Many times the audience enjoys watching a show or movie that’s based on a true story. When crazy things happen and they’re actually true, it hits different.

The new psychological thriller series is an adaptation of the true crime memoir, In with the Devil: A Fallen Hero, a Serial Killer, and a Dangerous Bargain for Redemption by authors James Keene and Hillel Levin. Keene joined the team of executive producers on the series.

In Black Bird, Jimmy Keene is the son of high school football hero and decorated policeman, Big Jim Keene. Jimmy has been sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison where he’s then given a choice – enter a maximum security prison to befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall, or serve out his full sentence where he is with no possibility of parole.

Officials are trying to get a confession out of Hall before his appeal goes through and he’s let out of the prison for the criminally insane. The hope is to find out where the bodies of several young girls are buried. But as the synopsis of the series asks – is the suspected killer telling the truth or just making up tales?

We might not have that answer right now, but we’re going to start to see the story play out very soon!

When is the first episode of Black Bird on Apple TV+?

The first episode of Black Bird will premiere on Friday, July 8. Not only that, Apple TV+ is also releasing the second episode on premiere day as well! Then one new installment will drop weekly on Fridays until the finale, set for Aug. 5. The limited series has a total of six episodes.

Black Bird stars actors Taron Egerton as Jimmy Keene, Paul Walter Hauser as Larry Hall, and Ray Liotta as Big Jim Keene. Fans of the late actor are probably eager to tune in to the show, as this is Liotta’s last television role. He died in his sleep on May 26, 2022 at the age of 67.

Black Bird premieres Friday, July 8, 2022 on Apple TV+.
