At long last, the Game of Thrones prequel we’ve all been waiting for is here. It’s all abut House of the Dragon, and it really doesn’t matter how you felt about the GoT series finale. After all, this new series is set hundreds of years before Daenerys got her own dragons.

The new series picks up 200 years before Game of Thrones. King Viserys Targaryen has chosen his heir, and it goes against what everyone expects. He’s chosen his daughter, Rhaenyra. Westeros hasn’t had a queen in her own right. She needs a king.

There are other Targaryens who could take her place. And so, a civil war begins. It was a huge turning point for the Targaryen family, and for Westeros as a whole.

How to watch the House of the Dragon series premiere

House of the Dragon will air on both HBO and HBO Max. The episodes will officially be available at midnight ET every Sunday via the apps, so you can watch them right now. If you’re going to watch on the channel, you’ll need to wait until 9 p.m. ET/PT.

For those in Canada like me, the episodes head to Crave. They are only available to stream at 9 p.m. ET on Crave, even if you want to stream instead of watching on the channel.

All episodes will follow the same pattern. This is a series that is getting a weekly release.
