And that’s a wrap in the tropical setting of Hawaii! Tonight’s episode of American Idol on April 17, 2023 saw the second half of the Top 26 contestants perform for our votes! Be sure to vote through the show’s website, app, or through text until 6 a.m. ET on Tuesday morning. But even if voting is open, was anyone sent home this evening?

The talented competitors who took to the stage for the second night in Hawaii were Colin Stough, Dawson Wayne, Platinum ticket winner Elijah McCormick, Hannah Nicolaisen, Malik Heard, Marybeth Byrd, Megan Danielle, Michael Williams, Nutsa, Olivia Soli, Paige Anne, Platinum Ticket winner Tyson Venegas, and Wé Ani.

All of the names above deserve to be on the series and are definitely fan-favorites! So did we have to say goodbye to any of them tonight? We’ve got the answer for you below!

Did anyone go home on American Idol? (April 17, 2023)

Thankfully, this week all of the contestants could just enjoy themselves and have fun on stage! Nobody was sent home yesterday nor during tonight’s episode. That’s because the two-night performances in Hawaii just featured the Idol hopefuls doing what they do best, singing! Hawaii also marks the first time during the competition where we’ve been able to vote at home. They didn’t have to stress this week, but next week is going to be brutal with some big cuts being made.

On Sunday, April 23, the 26 contestants will make their way back to Hollywood to reveal who America put through based on the votes we made. We’re going to get the Top 20 of the season, meaning six people will be headed home, per ABC. Be sure to carve out a lot of time as the episode is three hours long.

Then the next night on April 24, the Top 20 will perform for our votes at home to try and secure a spot in the Top 12. American chooses the first 10, with judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan choosing the other two to round out the Top 12. That means another eight contestants will leave the competition. So really, the name of the game is vote, vote, vote for your faves!

American Idol airs new episodes Sunday and Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
