Tonight’s American Idol is sure to pull at our heartstrings as we have to say goodbye to six contestants from the Top 26. In the two-night event, the ABC competition series is making some big cuts for us to get closer to finding out who will take home the titular title. Usually episodes are two hours long. Is it the same for tonight’s episode?

Up for a spot in the Top 20 are Colin Stough, Platinum ticket winners Elijah McCormick and Tyson Venegas, Nutsa, Paige Anne, and so many more hopefuls. Last week while in Hawaii, us at home got to vote for the first time this season to decide who we want to see continue on to the next round. And those results will be revealed tonight!

How long is American Idol tonight? (April 23, 2023)

Make sure you settle in and get comfy because American Idol is three hours long tonight! That’s right, we’re getting an extra hour more than usual. The episode this evening, April 23, 2023, begins at 8 p.m. ET and goes on until 11 p.m. ET.

The Top 26 return from the tropical setting of Hawaii to be back on stage in Hollywood to learn if they’ll be moving on to the Top 20. And then those contestants will be performing for our votes tonight once again, as a new, two-hour episode of American Idol is also scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, April 24, 2023 starting at 8 p.m. ET. Taking to the stage this evening are last year’s winner Noah Thompson and runner-up HunterGirl.
