San Diego Comic-Con is still haunted! For the third year in a row, the CBS hit comedy series Ghosts has had a spirited presence at the convention, and we were so glad to see the cast and creative team back with a panel this year to celebrate the show and share the ghoulish details about Ghosts season 4.

Kicking off a big day of television panels in Ballroom 20, the Ghosts panel included cast members Utkarsh Ambudkar, Richie Moriarty, Roman Zaragoza, and Rebecca Wisocky, along with executive producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. And just as expected -- the panel was full of announcements and teases about the upcoming season!

7 things we learned about Ghosts season 4 at SDCC

1) Patience the ghost will be played by Mary Holland

We're going to be meeting Patience the ghost face-to-face early on in the season, and she will be played by actor Mary Holland. Joe Wiseman described Patience as a Puritan ghost who was kicked out of her community for being "a bit too much even for Puritans," and we can't wait for the comedy that this character brings to the group. We might also be seeing where Patience has lived this whole time underground, because actors Roman Zaragoza and Richie Moriarty teased that they loved seeing the new set built for Patience in Ghosts season 4.

2) Ghosts season 4 will have two holiday specials

It was confirmed at SDCC that the Halloween special will be the third episode, and that Patience will have met the rest of the ghosts by that time and will have a big affect on the house. Patience will be getting into the mix for the festivities, but Joe Port teased that Patience being a Puritan means that "she may not be the biggest fan of Halloween." There will also be a Christmas holiday episode this year, and though no specific details were given, we're wondering if this is the time when we'll meet more of Jay's family.

3) We're meeting more of Jay and Sam's families

That's right! It was confirmed by the panel that we'll finally be meeting Jay's family on Ghosts season 4, this was something that Utkarsh Ambudkar was cheering for. We didn't get too many details on this news, but we did also learn we're meeting Sam's dad this season, who will be played by Dean Norris.

4) Pete's still too excited about his ghost power

In Ghosts season 3, Pete finally learned that his ghost power is his ability to leave the property -- with some caveats. This is something that Pete will still be excited about in the upcoming season, but the panelists joked that the other ghosts in the house are going to get tired of Pete always talking about where he's going, saying that Pete becomes "insufferable" to the other ghosts.

5) Jay's restaurant WILL open this season

This is something that had been teased a few weeks before Comic-Con, but Port confirmed again that we're going to see the restaurant open as one of the many storylines they're continuing in Ghosts season 4. We don't know whether or not this was a joke, but actor Utkarsh Ambudkar claimed that the opening of Jay's restaurant will feel like a scene from The Bear.

6) Ghosts season 4 will have more episodes!

It doesn't look like this has been formally announced by CBS, but during the panel, the executive producers very casually mentioned that Ghosts season 4 would have 22 episodes. We are still waiting for the confirmation on this, but it's absolutely safe to say that there will be more episodes this year than there were in season 3, which only had 10 episodes.

7) Jay will be able to SEE the ghosts!

With all of the jokes and news shared by the panelists, one of the biggest surprises was the reveal that Jay WILL be able to see the ghosts at Woodstone Manor at some point this season! This was also news to Utkarsh Ambudkar, who was very excited about the big announcement. There's no guarantee that Jay will be able to see them for long, but I think it's something all Ghosts fans can look forward to together.
