Fans of the One Chicago shows are eager to finally see them hit TV screens in January! However, there are a lot of changes going around, so a quick guide is needed to figure out what is happening on each series!

The One Chicago universe has been a huge success for NBC for over a decade. However, the firefighters, cops and doctors have had to take time off due to the various strikes occurring around the summer.

With those thankfully finally settled, all three series are set to return on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Yet every one of these shows has some changes coming that require some focus.

Chicago Fire

Who’s Out: Two big subtractions are coming for Season 12. Kara Killmer, who plays Sylvie Brett, and Alberto Rosende, who has played Blake Gallo for the past four seasons, will both be exiting. Rosende is expected to go after the Season 12 premiere, with Kilmer leaving later in the season.

Fans are naturally hopeful that Sylvie has decided to accept the proposal from long-term boyfriend Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer), and perhaps wedding bells will be heard in the Season 12 finale.

Unsure is the status of Christian Stolte as Season 12 ended with Mouch bleeding in a hospital bed. There’s no word if he lives or not, so there may be a shock exit coming.

Who’s in: The big news is Taylor Kinney will return in the Season 12 premiere as Kelly Severide. It’s unsure yet if it’s just a brief appearance or if Kinney will be around more to reunite with wife Stella Kidd.

Deadline also reports that Rome Flynn will join as new firefighter Jake Gibson, described as “a quietly confident former amateur boxer with a dark past.” While the role is set as recurring for now, it’s possible Flynn could become a regular if the character clicks with viewers.

Chicago Med - Season 6

Who’s out: The Season 8 finale had Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) leaving Med after taking the fall for exposing a faulty medical device. He was last seen reuniting with love Natalie (Torrey DeVitto) for a new life. That follows Brian Tee departing midseason as Choi started a new mobile medical clinic service.

Who’s in: Luke Mitchell (Blindspot) joins in the Season 9 premiere as Dr. Mitch Ripley, “an Emergency Department doctor with a troubled past who shares a history with Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt).” The role is set to be recurring for now but might become a regular. So far, there has been no word on other casting changes, although there is a possibility for another doctor to take Tee’s place.

Chicago P.D. - Season 10

Who’s out: The big news is that Tracy Spiridakos will exit after the upcoming Season 11. The logical idea is that Hailey Upton is leaving Chicago to reunite with her estranged husband, Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer). There’s no word on her exact exit circumstances, but she’s expected to still be in the 13-episode Season 11.

It’s also unsure as to the status of Patrick John Flueger as his Adam Ruzek was last seen in a hospital bed recovering from a gunshot wound. While Ruzek may survive, it’s possible his appearances this season are limited as he recovers.

Who’s in: So far, there’s no word on any cast additions, although it is likely that a new character is introduced as a replacement for Upton before becoming a regular (much like Spiridakos was brought in before Sophia Bush’s exit in Season 4).

With some changes coming to all the shows, these new seasons of the One Chicago franchise should keep viewers heated up for the delayed premieres!

Chicago Fire Season 12, Chicago Med Season 9, and Chicago PD Season 11 premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 17 on NBC.
