Awards season was back to back to back, but then we got a bit of a break following the 2024 Oscars. Well, it's time for another one to make it on our television screens, and that's this year's Country Music Television Awards! Who's ready?
The 2024 CMT Music Awards air live tonight, April 7, 2024 starting at 8 p.m. ET. The three-hour event will take place at the Moody Centeron in Austin, Texas, and is hosted by country pop singer Kelsea Ballerini. In the last few years, the artist has co-hosted with Kane Brown or someone else. But this year, she's taking on the responsibility all on her own!

How to watch on TV
The music-filled awards ceremony will air live on CBS starting at 8 p.m. ET. That would be a 7 p.m. CT start time for those of you in the Midwest (or Texas!), or 5 p.m. PT for viewers on the west coast. It's all about country music this evening, and we can't wait! The network is available through cable packages, as well as multiple other providers like FuboTV, DIRECTV, and YouTube TV. We shared a list of all the platforms you can access CBS below:

How to watch on streaming
The 2024 CMT Music Awards will also be available to stream live on Paramount+! Though you have to have a subscription to a specific tier to do so. The Paramount+ with Showtime option, which runs for $11.99/month with no ads, will allow you to watch live. Otherwise, Paramount+ Essential subscribers (with ads, $5.99/month) will need to wait until the next day on Monday, April 8 to check out the event.

Here are the 2024 CMT Music Awards nominees
In addition to performing, country singer Trisha Yearwood will be awarded with the inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award (named after the music icon). Per a press release, the award recognizes an artist or industry veteran "who demonstrates an exceptional dedication to community and their fellow artists, embodying June’s spirit as a fierce advocate and initiator in paying it forward, helping others find their voice and using their platform to inspire and uplift others."
There's a total of nine categories at the CMT Music Awards 2024. Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson, and Megan Moroney are all tied for the most nominations in three categories. There's also a bunch of first-time nominees including Amber Riley, former American Idol winner Chayce Beckham, Zach Bryan, and more.
