Marjan's life is put at risk in the 911: Lone Star season 5 trailer

911: Lone Star just revealed the first trailer showing the huge disaster putting one firefighter in danger! Here’s what else we know!

It’s been a long wait for fans of 911: Lone Star. Like all network shows, season 5 was delayed by the 2023 Hollywood strikes. By the time they ended in November, FOX decided it was best that the procedural be held off until the 2024-2025 TV season. 

That’s mostly due to logistics as the show needs a lot of time to film its big action sequences with the cast. There’s also the wrinkle of the mothership 911 series moving to ABC, robbing Lone Star of a lead-in. That's led to worries on the show's ratings suffering without the more successful 911 on the air.

Speculation has been high that season 5 could be the final one for the series. It's fueled by how Sierra McClain exited the series as Grace Ryder. Season 5 promos show that Wyatt (Jackson Pace) will take over as the lead 911 dispatcher helping the team out. 

The cast seems to have hinted that 911: Lone Star could be ending as well with Rob Lowe among the most vocal in expecting this is the end. Between the budget, rough ratings and the year-long delay since the last season, it’s logical to assume this could be the final year. 

At least the first trailer shows the series isn’t losing its touch in providing some wild excitement for fans.

911 fans know that every season premiere goes all out with some epic disaster. In the case of season 5, a train derailment lets loose what’s called a “toxic bomb” threatening Houston, and it’s up to the team of the 126 to stop it. This looks to put Marjan, in particular, in danger as the incident she's working is rocked by an explosion.

Per TVLine, other season 5 plotlines are being revealed: Judd has resigned from the 126 which leaves Paul and Marjan competing for lieutenant; Tommy decision to move forward in a relationship with Trevor encounters problems along the way; T.K. gets a surprise on his 30th birthday from someone from his past that could change his relationship with Carlos, who's becoming obsessed with solving his father's murder.

There’s no word on how Grace will be written out, and it’s still unclear if this will be the final year. If it is, then 911: Lone Star is making up for lost time with a wild premiere and ready to go out in a blaze of glory.

911: Lone Star season 5 premieres Monday, September 23 at 8/7c on Fox.
