We've officially entered awards season! It's going to be back-to-back with so many wonderful ceremonies celebrating our favorite shows, movies, and actors. Last week, the Golden Globes were a hit and kicked things off. Up next, we've got the Critics Choice Awards 2024!

Like past years, you'll need to tune in to The CW to watch the event tonight, Jan. 14, 2024. The 29th annual Critics Choice Awards is once again hosted by comedian and TV host Chelsea Handler. This will be her third time taking on MC duties at the ceremony. Read on below for the details on how to tune in on TV.

How to watch on TV

This year's awards show will be three hours long, beginning at 7 p.m. ET and going on until 10 p.m. ET on The CW. The television network is included in most cable packages, so if you're subscribed to a provider be sure to check if you have access.

How to watch by time zones

  • Eastern: 7 p.m. ET to 10 p.m. ET
  • Central: 6 p.m. CT to 9 p.m. CT
  • Pacific: 4 p.m. PT to 7 p.m. PT
  • Mountain: 5 p.m. MT to 8 p.m. MT

Will the awards show be streaming anywhere?

Unlike other ceremonies, unfortunately the Critics Choice Awards 2024 will not be streaming on any platform live or on-demand. Many times the network adds new episodes of shows on The CW app the next day they air for free. But unfortunately, the event will not be streaming on the app or any other platform. So you'll really want to make sure to try and tune in live to see it all!

Critics Choice Awards 2024 categories

Other than the typical awards that will be handed out, there's two special ones for two special actors. Harrison Ford will be honored with the Career Achievement Award. He's known for so many iconic films including the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. On TV, his most recent roles are in Yellowstone prequel 1923 and Apple TV+'s Shrinking. He's also nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy series for Shrinking.

Barbie actress America Ferrera will be the recipient of the 8th annual SeeHer Award. This is given to women who advocate for gender equality, portray characters with authenticity, defy stereotypes and push boundaries, per a press release. She's known for her roles in Ugly Betty, Superstore, and Gentefied on Netflix.

When it comes to making a change, she's done so through her podcast Poderistas, which is meant to "inform, affirm, and inspire Latinas." She also co-founded HARNESS, which is a community " artists, influencers, and grassroots leaders" who use art and storytelling to try and create a "more equitable world." The star is also up for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Barbie.

Film nominated categories

There's a total of 21 categories for films. In not so surprising news, Barbie is leading with the most nominations out of any other movie on the list, a whooping 18 nominations! Those include Best Picture, Best Comedy, and Best Director. Margot Robbie is also up for Best Actress, while Ryan Gosling could take home a win for Best Supporting Actor. For television, there's a total of 20 categories. The Morning Show on Apple TV+ starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon leads with the most nominations - a total of six. That includes Best Drama Series, as well as Best Actress for Aniston and Witherspoon. HBO's Succession is close behind with a total of five nominations.
