Grey’s Anatomy and Fam were among the shows to see upticks in live viewer ratings. The same couldn’t be said for Legacies, The Big Bang Theory, and more. Here are the Feb. 21 TV ratings.

The Thursday, Feb. 21 TV ratings were a mixed bag. While some shows saw upward ticks on some excellent episodes, other shows were way down. What does it mean for their futures?

Let’s get the big negative out of the way. Legacies saw a whopping 45% decrease in the demo and a 38% decrease in the total viewers, each delivering a series low. The good news for the series is that it’s already been renewed for a second season. However, there is something to be concerned about. This was one of the only shows to air new on The CW this week and it looks like not all fans got the memo — or because Supernatural didn’t air new for the lead-in, people didn’t stay tuned.

Gotham also saw a small decline in both demo and audience ratings but this isn’t something to be too concerned about. After all, it is the show’s final season.

Speaking of final season, The Big Bang Theory saw a 10% drop in its demo TV ratings and a 4% in the total audience. While there’s nothing to worry about because this is the final season, it’s also worth noting that even with these drops, the show stole the night.  This is routinely CBS’s strongest show, so it’s going to be interesting to see what happens next season.

Young Sheldon is there to offer some help. Now renewed for two more seasons, the prequel spin-off pulled in 11.29 million eyeballs and a demo rating of 1.8, delivering the second highest of the night. Despite it being a small drop from the previous episode, it was a good night.

CBS’ good night continued with Mom (up 19% and 11% in demo and audience) and Fam (up 11% and 4% in demo and audience). Mom already has a two-season renewal, but the question now is whether Fam will be picked up for another season. I think CBS might want to move the show to an earlier timeslot. Considering a lot of The Vampire Diaries fans would tune in for Nina Dobrev, the show may perform much better in the 8:30/7:30c timeslot next year (and move Young Sheldon to the 8/7c timeslot).

The positivity didn’t continue into the 10/9c slot, with S.W.A.T. dropping again. The demo matches the season low from a couple of weeks ago. I think the only thing that could see this landing a second season is the fact that the total audience remains to win the top spot of the timeslot. However, CBS may want to look at jigging around the schedule.

CBS wasn’t the only network having a strong night. ABC saw upticks in Grey’s Anatomy and A Million Little Things. The only show that saw a decrease in the live TV ratings was How to Get Away with Murder, dropping to a series low in the demo to 0.5. Quite honestly, things remain iffy for this series ahead of its season finale next week.

NBC and FOX’s nights were mixed. Check out the full Feb. 21 TV ratings.
