Proving that the Pearsons can make us cry on and off camera, Mandy Moore won ‘This Is Us’ co-star Milo Ventimiglia’s birthday with a heartfelt message.

Happy birthday, Milo Ventimiglia! As luck would have it, life didn’t imitate art for Papa Pearson. Thankfully, his birthday was remembered by his This Is Us leading lady. You’ll remember that on the day their lives changed forever, Rebecca forgot her husband’s birthday, forcing her to waddled on down to the store to scrape up a treat. But Ventimiglia’s TV wife, Mandy Moore, showed up Rebecca Pearson’s banana muffin tenfold.

“Happiest Birthday to the greatest tv husband (and let’s be honest, greatest guy in general)!!” Moore wrote on Instagram alongside a ship-inducing photo of the pair. “We are all so lucky to know you and be in your orbit, Milo. Can’t wait to get back on set and celebrate with you next week!!” Did you hear that? Cameras haven’t even started rolling on the second season of This Is Us, and we’re already reaching for the tissues. Now that’s how you wish someone a happy birthday, Rebecca. Chrissy Metz joined in on the birthday love for her This Is Us co-star, sending Milo Ventimiglia some sweet words on Instagram. “Your charm, talent, care, concern and love for others never ceases to amaze me. Today we celebrate you!” Metz captioned a photo of the on-screen dad and daughter hugging. “Thanks for being the best faux Father a Madonna lovin’ girl could ask for!”

Ventimiglia thanked his fans and co-stars for the outpouring of birthday wishes on Twitter, sharing a photo of himself sporting the now-classic Jack Pearson beard and a hat that reads “over the hill.” But we have to agree with Sterling K. Brown on this one — that hill has got nothing on Milo Ventimiglia. Besides, he looks just as good as his grown-up TV children. (*wink*)
