Danneel Ackles’ first Supernatural episode is almost here, but fans have a burning question from the minimal information they have about Sister Jo.

When fans learned that Danneel Ackles, there was a lot of excitement. For years, she had said that she wouldn’t be in the show, unless it got to a 13th season. As soon as Supernatural Season 13 was announced, many fans wanted to know if it would be the year that Danneel would join her husband on set.

It’s finally happening. “Devil’s Bargain” will see her character, Sister Jo, for the first time. There’s very little about her released, except that she’s a faith healer. The first images released certainly throw us back to Season 1, when Pastor Roy believed he was able to heal the sick and injured. Whether Sister Jo is using a reaper or not like Roy’s wife is unknown, but the images of the upcoming episode have certainly led to questions.

The big question is which side Sister Jo will be on? The Winchesters may learn that she isn’t someone they can trust.

On the Winchesters’ side, running from Lucifer

The trailer for “Devil’s Bargain” makes it look like Sister Jo will be on the good side; the Winchesters’ sides. The synopsis makes it clear that Lucifer will turn to her for help to get his abilities back, but during the promo she turns to Dean for help. She needs his protection.

This could be a bluff, but Supernatural Season 13 has been full of them. Whether it was a crossroads demon looking to get his bones back or Rowena looking for a specific spell from the Black Grimoire, the Winchesters have found themselves trusting or believing someone, only to find out that someone was against them the whole time.

It would be a little too obvious for that to happen with Sister Jo. Whether her abilities are pure or not, there’s hope that the writers will surprise us with a character that’s on the Winchesters’ side and not going to waver later.

Lured in by the Devil

Of course, many worry that she will have been lured by the Devil. Lucifer wants her to heal him and will likely gain that by threatening her. This could be through blackmail, but the title suggests that it would be more of a deal or a bargain. Whether this is linked to her abilities, something happening in her life or even her past, it’s unknown but there’s likely some sort of deal that will happen.

One possible theory is that she made a crossroads deal for her healing hands. The contract is coming due and she decides to make a bargain with Lucifer to avoid going to Hell. Images show Sister Jo in the same house as Dean, Sam and Castiel, and Lucifer has been spotted there, so the deal may be that she leads the Winchesters to the Devil.
