Supernatural Season 13 will finally air its most highly anticipated episode, but how is it possible for the Winchesters to crossover with the Scooby Gang?

“Scoobynatural” is almost here. The most highly anticipated episode of the Supernatural Season 13 is finally happening, and now the questions are moving more into theories. Fans want to speculate about how the move into the Scooby Gang’s world is going to be possible.

SPN Hunters has already looked into one of those “out there” theories, ever since that certain tricky archangel returned. The biggest question for that to work is how that archangel will escape Asmodeus’ dungeon. That means we’ve had to look at other “Scoobynatural” theories to explain how the Winchesters will end up in Scooby-Doo world.

More from Supernatural

#1. It’s all about Gabriel

Honestly, this is the theory that seems to stick with a lot of fans since that big reveal. Why can’t Gabriel somehow escape from his imprisonment and make it to the Winchesters? If he doesn’t escape but gets out temporarily, he could just put the Winchesters into Scooby-Doo world as a warning or a reminder that he’s alive.

The complication is how he’ll get out. Well, there’s nothing to say that Ketch won’t help break Gabriel out. In one of the first-look images from Entertainment Weekly, the Winchesters and Castiel are looking at someone in their real world with apprehension and a little confusion. Is this Ketch coming to tell the Winchesters that it was all Gabriel’s doing?

#2. Rowena has a hand in it

Another one of the popular “Scoobynatural” theories is that it’s Rowena. SPN noticed the purple glow from the television and linked that back to Rowena at the end of “Various and Sundry Villains.” Her witchcraft had that same purple glow, as she leveled up, almost.

Rowena having a hand in it would make some sense. She’s angry that Crowley sacrificed himself for the Winchesters and wants to get her revenge on Lucifer. Trapping the Winchesters to get them out of the way while she tackles Lucifer would definitely sound like something Rowena would do.

#3. It’s another witchy doing

Rowena isn’t the only witch around. Another witch could come into play, leading to the Winchesters getting trapped. The witch (or witches) could trap the Winchesters thinking that they can cause havoc and get rid of the “pesky kids” while in a cartoon.

This would work as a one-off episode, but it’s worth remembering that Castiel is part of this episode. Why would a one-off witch do something against all three of them unless it was part of the bigger story.

#4. Asmodeus is guilty

Who else other than Asmodeus could want to trap the Winchesters and their pesky angel? He wants to get Lucifer and find Jack, so getting rid of the Winchesters is just a side mission for him. Rather than waste efforts killing them, he could just put them in another world for the time being instead.

Why Scooby-Doo? Isn’t that a bit juvenile? Well, it could be linked to Asmodeus’ powers, which may or may not come from Gabriel.

#5. It’s Ketch’s way of alerting the Winchesters and Castiel

Ketch is currently the only one who knows about Gabriel being locked away. He has also worked with Rowena before, which is how he came back from the dead. It would make sense that Ketch has something to do with putting both Winchesters brothers and Castiel into the world of the Scooby Gang.

He likes playing mind games, and putting everyone into a cartoon would create them. However, he could also want to do something Gabriel would do, giving the Winchesters and Castiel a chance to remember “Changing Channels” and figure out that Gabriel is back.

#6. Lucifer wants a little bit of fun

How about Lucifer having a hand in causing problems for the Winchesters? Lucifer will know that Sam and Dean want to open the rift to the other world and that means archangel grace. There is no way he will want to give up some more, so he’ll want to stop the Winchesters as much as possible.

The problem for Lucifer is that “Scoobynatural” doesn’t make sense. He’s never really put people into odd worlds for some fun. If he wanted to get rid of the Winchesters, he’d send angel lackeys after them.

#7. Something goes wrong in the bunker

The last time we had a fictional world pop up in Supernatural was when something went wrong in the bunker. The Wicked Witch of the West was released and the world of Dorothy and Oz was opened to the Winchesters and Charlie. What if something like this goes wrong?

Sam and Dean are in the bunker when they’re pulled into the Scooby Gang’s world. This could hint that someone has accidentally read a spell or another vial has dropped, creating the problem.

This theory works with a recent reveal from showrunner Andrew Dabb. He says this isn’t the work of Gabriel, but a new monster.
