We may not have a confirmation of Supernatural Season 14, but there is already talk of the villain of the season. Could it be the Cosmic Entity?

Supernatural‘s panel at PaleyFest 2018 was awesome, just because it streamed live on Facebook. Everyone around the world had a chance to watch live and now it’s possible to play back for absolutely nothing. There were a few notable comments from the panel, including those about a potential Supernatural Season 14.

While the show hasn’t been renewed officially yet, the showrunners are already planning ahead. One of those plans is about the big bad. It looks like one of our current big bads (at least) will kick the bucket and a new one will come out of the shadows. That could be the Cosmic Entity.

For those who don’t remember, the Cosmic Entity was portrayed by Misha Collins–and there were a lot of comments about that accent. Fans wanted to know if there was a chance to see the Cosmic Entity again. Robert Singer confirmed it was a possibility and they were looking into it for the next season.

Having the Cosmic Entity as the big bad would be awesome. You’d never really know who he was, since he tends to become whoever he wants. In the Empty, he became Castiel, but he could become Sam, Dean, Mary, John and more. This would be a way to bring back favorite characters without actually bringing them back, confusing everyone. Think of it a little like Eve. Hey, maybe the Cosmic Entity could even turn out to be Adam from the Garden of Eden!

"We might visit it next year. We’re talking about it.–Robert Singer"

The Cosmic Entity certainly needs to be explored more. Why is he needed in the Empty? After all, angels and demons aren’t supposed to wake up from their eternal sleeps. Castiel did because of Jack, but it’s not like another nephilim is around to wake everyone up. What would the Cosmic Entity really need to do, except get the sleep that he loves?

Right now, there doesn’t seem to be a reason for the Cosmic Entity to come out to play. That could certainly change by the end. After all, we had no idea about Amara until Dean killed Death and his Mark of Cain was removed at the end of Supernatural Season 10.

The downside of the Cosmic Entity being the big bad is that it sounds permanent and final. That would likely make a good Series Finale villain, which we don’t want to see yet!

Would you like to see the Cosmic Entity as the big bad of Supernatural Season 14? Are you just happy that there’s talk of next season, even if it’s unofficial? Who would you like to see as the big bad? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
