Supernatural Season 2, Episode 15 recap: The Winchesters meet a Trickster
It’s the Supernatural Season 2 episode that everyone looks forward to: the arrival of the Trickster.
It seems quite fitting that this recap is coming up now considering the storylines happening on Supernatural Season 13. Supernatural Season 2, Episode 15 was the first meeting of a very special character; one that has gained a loyal following, despite his annoying habits and love of winding up the Winchesters.
Yes, it’s all about Gabriel, although this was before he was known as Gabriel. “Tall Tales” was the point that we all believed he was a creature called the Trickster. Let’s get on with the recap, shall we?

Aliens, alligators, suicides, oh my!
The episode starts with Sam and Dean getting to a university campus. There’s been an apparent suicide of a professor, who just happens to be an adulterer. This sounds like one of the more well-known urban legends, so the Winchesters just have to check it out.
When that turns out to be a bust, things start to get creepier. Other urban legends and strange happenings take place, including an alligator in the sewers and an alien abduction.
There’s only one thing for it. The Winchesters call in reinforcements in the form of Bobby Singer.
Bobby knows the case immediately
It doesn’t take long for Bobby to figure it out, with the issues between the brothers being the big give away. Both give their sides of the story, being just as ridiculous and over the top as one another. Honestly, this is an episode you’ll just want to watch over and over again for the brotherly antics; they act just like my sister and me!

When Bobby tells them it’s a Trickster, the three get together and figure out the culprit. Their suspicions lie with the janitor, and sure enough it’s him. After refusing to listen to the Trickster’s pleas not to kill him, a fight breaks out and the Winchesters are able to stake the Trickster through the heart.
Of course, death doesn’t last for long on Supernatural, especially when the Trickster isn’t a Trickster. Gabriel (before we even knew it was him) disappears and the real one appears elsewhere. Everything in the room disappears and the Trickster leaves without a trace, waiting for another day…in Supernatural Season 3.
