Supernatural: Should Castiel trust the angels?

So the angels have come crawling and begging on Supernatural but is it wise for Castiel to trust them?

In the wise words of Dean Winchester, “angels are dicks.” Everything supernatural on Supernatural is what you would expect. Demons, as you would expect, are bad. Evil spirits are evil. Monsters are monsters etc, etc.

But when it comes to angels, they are just dicks. Angels are supposed to be the supernatural mascot of all things good. The opposite of demons. Yet the only good one really is Castiel.

All the rest are just dicks. To busy messing things up and hell-bent on causing destruction. Can you imagine what the world would be like if Sam and Dean were not around? Oh wait, we already know! The apocalyptic world that Jack and Mary are in. Oh, what a lovely world that is being run by angels, I say all so sarcastically.

Anyway…

On last night’s episode of Supernatural Castiel agreed to help the angels bring back Gabriel. With so few angels left in heaven, the place is falling apart. The angels need an archangel to return to heaven and help them keep the place running. They, unfortunately, cannot leave so have put their differences aside and have entrusted Castiel to carry out this mission. Something that Castiel has agreed to do.

But should he? Should he really be trusting the angels?

The short and sweet answer is hell no!

Castiel has been betrayed way too many times by the angels. So much that it is a good bet, as in 99% a sure thing, that it will happen again. As soon as they no longer need him they are going to betray him.

What should Castiel do?

The problem Castiel has is that he can’t not do anything. If heaven crumbles then that is just going to open up a Pandora’s box of problems. Castiel needs to be smart about this.

He needs to, first of all, let Sam and Dean no what’s going on and secondly, he needs to come up with a way to trap them in their own trap. Whatever the angels end up planning for Cas, he needs to make sure he can flip it back on them.

That way he doesn’t get himself killed and saves heaven at the same time.
