It’s that time of the month again when we find out what we need to binge before we lose it on Netflix. But it’s also the time to find out the new goodies coming to Netflix in May 2018.

I have a love/hate relationship with this time of the month. Netflix announces all the shows that are coming to the service and those that are leaving. As much as I love seeing all the new stuff, there’s always something I adore leaving Netflix. That’s the case for May 2018.

Here’s a look at everything coming to and leaving Netflix in May 2018. Now is the time to make a note of all your favorites.

The low points

More from Netflix

There are a few things I’m disappointed about leaving and I’ll touch on them first. High School Musical and are going. This wouldn’t be that bad, except that High School Musical 3 is making its way onto the service. I know, that’s a “coming to” movie in the leaving section, but it’s the reason I’m disappointed. When I watch the third one, I’ll want the first two to binge in order!

Charlotte’s Web is another low point for me. This is, by far, one of my favorite childhood movies and one that I was hoping to continue show to my kids. One of them is still too young to appreciate it. Looks like I’ll be getting the DVD instead.

If you’re a fan of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, you’ll want to binge watch all five seasons this weekend. Netflix hasn’t been quiet about this series exiting the service, but it’s still a low point for many. After all, the series was critically acclaimed when it first starting, focusing on some very heavy but important material.

The great news about the exits is that most will take place in the first two days. After that, you’ll just see the odd one or two exit the service now and then.

The high points

There are a lot of Netflix Originals coming to the service. Again, this isn’t surprising. The streaming service has been extremely vocal about bringing its own content. I thought March and April were months to beat, but Netflix in May 2018 is going to be one to watch out for.

Dear White People Volume 2 drops at the start of the month. Lena Waithe is joining the cast and it promises to tackle every single topic you can think of!

For those looking for an animated show for the kids, Inspector Gadget Season 4 will drop in the middle of the month. The first three seasons already take adults back to the good old days and the fourth season is bound to do the same.

The musical lovers will likely look forward to May 16, which is when Mama Mia drops on the service. Take the time to sing along with all the Abba songs from the past.

Here’s a look at the full list of things coming to and leaving Netflix in May 2018. The asterisk (*) notes Netflix Originals.
